Here you'll find printable underwire charts for all the styles we stock at Arte Crafts Bra Making Supplies. When printing out it is important that you select to print at actual size rather than printing to fit. Each page has a ruler so you can verify that you have printed to the exact scale.
R1 Regular Day Wear Underwires Sizes 26-56 Regular round standard underwire shape. R1 is available to size 60. R1 is 10mm longer than R2. This wire is available in 20 gauge
R2 Regular Day Wear Underwires Sizes 26-56 Regular round standard underwire shape. R2 is available to size 54. R2 is 10mm shorter than R2 but has the same basic shape. This wire is available in 22 gauge. This is the wire I recommend for the Cloth Habit Harriet and Orange Lingerie's Marlborough and Bolyston.
RHF Regular High Front Day Wear Underwires Sizes 24-42 A good compromise between a regular and a vertical wire because it comes up higher at the bridge but still flares out (and is shorter) at the arm to prevent digging. Use the same size you would in our regular underwires. These wires are your standard regular length bra underwire for use in most classic bra patterns. 5mm shorter than our R2 wires. If you're not quite an omega style breast needing a true vertical wire you might find these to be just the right fit. Compared to our R series wires these are higher in the front and lower at the underarm so they really cover a common fit issue.
RLFHA1 Regular Low Front High Arm Day Wear Underwires This wire is the same basic shape as our R1 and R2 wires. It is the same length as the R1 wires but they are 10mm shorter at the front and 10mm higher at the arm. These are good for a slightly lower cut bra but are not as short as a demi or plunge wire which is 20mm+ shorter than a regular wire.
Vertical Style Underwires Sizes 30-52 A vertical size underwire that is more U-shaped than a regular underwire and the front arm swings up at the center front in a vertical fashion. Perfect if you have omega-shaped breasts common with large cup sizes on smaller frames. You might need to go a size or two up from your regular underwire size since this wire is narrower than an R1/R2 of the same size.
Demi Style Underwires Sizes 30-52 These are demi cup or balconette style underwires perfect for creating a bra with a lower neckline that your standard day bra. This is the style of wire you need to create those sexy Victoria Secret style bras. See also our plunge/pushup bra wires for an even lower neckline. Compared to a regular day wear wire these are lower in the front and slightly lower at the arm but the angle from the balance point of the wire to the arm is a steeper angle than a regular round wire. They are 20-30mm shorter than our regular day wear wires.
Shallow Demi Style Underwires Sizes 30-52 These are similar in shape to our demi underwires but they are more flared at both ends and are 15mm shorter at the underarm. Victoria Secret uses this style of underwire a lot in their wired bralettes and some of their halter neck style. A good wire choice for certain swimsuit styles.
Plunge / Push Up Style Underwires Sizes 30-60 These are plunge / push up style underwires for creating a very low cut or push up style bras. This is the style of wire you need to create those low cut WONDER BRA style bras. Compared to a regular day wear wire these are lower in the front and slightly lower at the arm but the angle from the balance point of the wire to the arm is a steeper angle than a regular round wire. They are 40-50mm shorter than our regular day wear wires and about 18-20mm shorter than our demi cup underwires.
S1 Strapless Style Underwires Sizes 30-58 This is the wire you need if you are looking to make a strapless bra that fits. In a strapless bra underwire, the front and arm of the wire are exactly the same length to ensure you get the support and coverage that you need. You simply can't make a strapless bra without one. This style comes in two lengths the S1 (this listing) or the S2 which is 10mm shorter but the same shape. Lengthwise the S1 is the same length as an R1 of the same size but is higher in the front and lower at the arm compared to a regular day bra wire (R1/R2)
Low Continuous Monowires Sizes 32-42 These monowires are low in the front and high at the arm for the perfect pushup effect. Similar in sizing to our R1 wires.
Rocker / Triangle Bra Wires Size 0-7 Suitable for triangle style bras. Might be suitable for adding to the Watson with some modification. Comes in sizes 0 to 7. This wire size is not sized in traditional cup/band sizing
